One of the most common Agrograms is the 4 fold circle formation also known as the quintuplet. Not only does it appear frequently at the beginning of the crop season, it was also one of the first recorded  crop circle patterns from the late 1970’s and interestingly was also one the first pattern to appear in the new millennium. The design contains an inner circle and 4 outer orbiting circles, it has appeared and evolved in hundreds of different styles. In addition to representing a signature of carbon based life (Methane, CH4), it could also represent the Cartesian coordinate system or 2D directionality (north, south, east, west), it could also a signature of life or DNA being made from blocks of 4 nucleotides, or it could be a reference to the 4 inner planets of our solar system and the sun at the centre.

The dimensionality aspect also seems like it could be important information as it has been noted there is a connection between natural Agrograms using 3 fold designs to depict mushrooms, trees, plants or other static earthbound beings, seed themed designs seem to depict the same 3 fold circle design. It could be that this number indicates the level of consciousness or basis of life in some way, the large majority of animal species Agrograms have appeared featuring the 4 circles in some way, for example the Dragonfly and Hummingbird agrograms and annotating DNA, CH4 methane or dimension mobility meaning into the design. Following on with this logic you could also hypothesise some 6 fold designs or Sacred Geometry could symbolise consciousness about our own or advanced intelligent life or perhaps the ability to move in 3 dimensions such as birds, 8 fold patterns for anti gravity or beings with access to 4 or more dimensions.

Astrophysicists are scanning exoplanets for biosignatures (chemical signatures produced by other lifeforms and compositions of exoplanet atmospheres) by analysing chemical signatures captured in light from distant worlds. One of the key elements they are looking for is depicted in this common crop circle pattern. Interestingly the same configuration could apply also for hypothetical silicon based life, so this may more simply be a signature of life in general. Could this be a greeting from a silicon or other based lifeform to us carbon based lifeforms?

As this is quite a simple design to hoax  it could be argued that this is such a common pattern because it’s one of the simplest to make, however this does not explain why it usually only appears early in the season, strongly hinting at this being a greeting or signal of some kind.
