This iconic formation first appeared in August 1990 and photos famously used for both the cover of the Led Zeppelin album of that same year and the 2002 Movie Signs, making this pattern one of the most iconic and famous crop circle patterns. Later appearing in Germany in July 2005, and rather crudely in Norfolk UK in August 2006 and most recently in Hampshire, August 2023. Rough versions and imitations have been created, leading many to speculate on whether or not this is a hoax.
There are many different interpretations of this crop circle and there have been some adaptations over the years, the signal has repeated several times. Whether that is because of it’s high profile use on album covers or because it is an important signal is unknown, but if it’s a signal then it’s surely an important one. Many have used the terms “Keys” to describe the odd patterns crossing through at least 2 of the main circles, so one interesting theory regarding this it could be some kind of “Key” as in a decryption key or meaning cypher for the decoding of further crop patterns. Another clue to this is other patterns have also appeared frequently with the same features of this one, but we have yet to find the wisdom to see it as such, but it is noteworthy how such repeating features also occur in language translation and code breaking.
As it was one of the first patterns to appear before the phenomena gained notoriety strongly suggests it to be a signal and a greeting of some kind. When I first saw this pattern it appeared to me like a signature of some kind, something otherworldly and beyond our current understanding. Others have suggested it could be a depiction of a planetary system, possibly the system of the circle creators, but we have seen others depicting a planetary system with more novelty.
The first section of the Agrogram (left side circle with 2 thin outer rings) could depict the star, perhaps a brown dwarf or neutron star and has appeared many times before in some of the earliest formations in the 1980’s, this section also features clearly for example in the Star Map agrogram. The second section with 2 joined circles crossed by a key like feature has been described as the “key” to the circles in some way. The third section with the 2 parallel lines on either side of a connecting line between 2 circles has appeared frequently, for example in the signal transmission agrogram and anywhere that it seems some kind of energy flow or transition is occurring in depiction.
The true meaning for this pattern is still very much up for debate, it could just as easily represent atomic bonds of some kind, or could even be a theory of everything we have yet to acquire the information to regard it as such. It definitely seems to be important to the circle makers as it was one of the first patterns to appear and has repeated several times, but sadly could be just beyond our realm of understanding for now.
